Contents: Die »Studia dipterologia – Zeitschrift für Taxonomie, Systematik, Ökologie und Faunistik der Zweiflügler (Diptera)« wurde 1994 in Halle an der Saale gegründet. Seit Januar 2010 wird die Zeitschrift vom Senckenberg Deutschen Entomologischen Institut (Müncheberg) veröffentlicht. Herausgeber sind Frank Menzel (Müncheberg), John Kramer (Oadby) und Andreas Stark (Halle an der Saale). Redaktionelle Aufgaben werden am SDEI von Frank Menzel, Mathias Jaschhof und Andrea Thiele wahrgenommen. Die Zeitschrift wird vom Zoological Record (BIOSIS), den CAB Abstracts (CABI) und von VINITI (Moskau) referiert. Publiziert werden Originalarbeiten aus den Bereichen Taxonomie, phylogenetische Systematik, Faunistik, Biologie, Ökologie, Zoogeographie und Verhaltensforschung, wenn sie die Insektenordnung Diptera zum Hauptgegenstand haben. Außerdem können Arbeiten zum Lebenswerk von Dipterologen (Lebensläufe, Festschriften, Nachrufe, Publikationslisten), dipterologische Reise- und Expeditionsberichte, Arbeiten über dipterologische Sammlungen, Kataloge und Checklisten zu ausgewählten Dipterengruppen, Vorankündigungen zu dipterologischen Veranstaltungen, Tagungs- und Kongressberichte, Kurzmitteilungen und Buchbesprechungen mit dipterologischem Inhalt veröffentlicht werden.
